Fayetteville and LR!

Last week was a very welcomed break from work for us. It was meant to be a mini vacation- and but we definitely exhausted ourselves instead of rested! We intended to take the Subaru on this 1300 mile trip, assuming that it would be out of the shop by then... but they are still waiting on one last tiny piece to come in so the windshield can be reattached. SOOO, we took the pooper (Ben's Trooper)- which has no AC. It was fine on the way there when we were headed North and Fayetteville greeted us with a nice 70 degree evening... but yesterday we roasted in the sun headed home to Austin. I totally have a trucker's tan on my left arm. Poor Ben had to spend his birthday in the car sweating and shouting bc the wind was so loud. Ah well.


We did have a really great time with friends in AR though. We got to see Preston and Leslie, Jake and Jenn, Clay and Rachel, Cy, Amy, Megan, Cherry, Meghan, Sara, Kelsey and Drew, and all my nursing girls (to name a few)!! Got to poke around Fayetteville and hit our favorite spots like La Huerta, Common Grounds, Jammin Java, and Hugo's.

Then we headed down to LR/ Conway for a nursing friend's wedding on Saturday. Again, GREAT to see everyone. We were supposed to meet up with people and hike up Pinnacle Mountain, but we never could find each other and made the trek seperately- that was a major bummer, but still fun to do it with Ben of course. The climb definitely made us astutely aware of our out-of-shapeness and fair skin. Should have worn sunscreen. Then we were off to the wedding, and back home in the morn. Phew!

We stopped in Dallas where my mom made a delicious birthday feast, and now we are back home in Austin. Ben got up at 3am (which accidentally turned into 4am) to head out for a week of working in Salt Lake. Booo- our longest time apart since engagement! Hopefully I can really get the house cleaned while he's gone :) and make some more progress on the kitchen.



Ben will have to miss a church-league basketball game this week, but all should be well. I'm gonna brag on him and say that he was the MVP last week. Then our first anniversary is Sunday! Wow!
